New York State Police say an autopsy ruled the death of Patricia A. Lawrence, 54, of Jay a homicide. Investigators are asking area residents to review security footage.
An autopsy has determined that the death of a woman found inside a Jay residence Sunday morning was a homicide, New York State Police said.
The autopsy was conducted at approximately 7:00 a.m. Monday at Glens Falls Hospital by forensic pathologist Dr. Michael Sikirica. Following the autopsy, the deceased woman was identified as Patricia A. Lawrence, 54, of Jay. Sikirica determined the manner of death to be homicide.
Troopers responded to a residence at 150 Carey Road in the town of Jay at approximately 10:05 a.m. Sunday for a report of a deceased female. A preliminary investigation found the victim had non-self-inflicted injuries, and she was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators executed multiple search warrants and processed the scene.
State Police have asked residents and businesses in the surrounding area to review security camera footage for any suspicious activity between approximately 10:30 p.m. Saturday, August 1, and 9:00 a.m. Sunday, August 2.

State Police have not announced any arrests. The investigation is ongoing.
