Jesse J. Pickering of Tupper Lake faces multiple felony charges following three separate domestic violence incidents on Pleasant Avenue and Ivy Terrace.
State Police say Jesse J. Pickering, 44, of Tupper Lake, was arrested on August 28 after an investigation into three separate domestic disputes in the village.
The first call came on July 23 around 2:51 a.m. on Pleasant Avenue. Troopers say Pickering and the victim got into a verbal argument that turned physical. According to the report, Pickering allegedly grabbed the victim’s hair, dragged them to the ground, pressed on their neck, and struck the back of the victim’s head with a closed fist. He is also alleged to have retrieved an aluminum baseball bat, made threatening statements, and smashed a glass candlestick on a table. The victim escaped to a nearby house; Pickering fled.
A second incident was reported on August 9 at about 8:25 a.m. on Ivy Terrace, linked to the same Pleasant Avenue residence. Police say Pickering allegedly hit the victim multiple times with a metal grate and then grabbed the victim’s neck, causing them to lose consciousness. The victim again sought help at a friend’s house while Pickering ran.
The third call came on August 28 at roughly 10:07 a.m. on Pleasant Avenue. Troopers say Pickering was at the victim’s back door, yelling and demanding entry. The victim fled, tripped, and was allegedly struck multiple times in the head by Pickering. The victim escaped and ran for help; Pickering left the scene but was later located and arrested.
Pickering was taken to the State Police station in Tupper Lake for processing. He has been charged with numerous offenses, including two counts of second‑degree assault, two counts of third‑degree criminal possession of a weapon, menacing, unlawful imprisonment, several counts of aggravated family offense, burglary, strangulation, and others. He was arraigned in Tupper Lake Court and held on $100,000 cash bail or $200,000 bond.
